The ARCAIR 24062003 is a DC Jetrod Copperclad Jointed carbon arc gouging electrode designed for heavy-duty metal removal and weld preparation work. Constructed from copper with a round rod profile, this electrode measures 3/8 inches in diameter and 14 inches in length. It is used in arc gouging operations where consistent performance and reliable metal removal are required. Welders, pipefitters, and ironworkers rely on this type of electrode for tasks including crack removal, weld joint preparation, and casting repair. The copperclad construction promotes stable arc performance and efficient current transfer during DC gouging operations.
This electrode is suited for professional gouging applications across industrial, structural, and maintenance welding environments. Common uses include cleaning and repairing castings, creating U-grooves for weld joint preparation, gouging out cracks, removing hard surface material, removing old welds, and rough machining stock removal. It is appropriate for use in fabrication shops, field repair operations, and heavy equipment maintenance settings where DC arc gouging equipment is in use.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement electrode for use with DC carbon arc gouging torches and systems that accept 3/8 inches diameter round carbon electrodes.
Installation and operation of arc gouging electrodes should be performed by qualified welders or certified welding professionals familiar with DC arc gouging equipment. Shut down and de-energize all equipment before loading or changing electrodes. Operators must wear appropriate PPE including a proper welding helmet, hearing protection, and flame-resistant clothing, as arc gouging generates intense heat, noise, and molten metal spray. Follow applicable AWS safety standards and the equipment manufacturer guidelines for torch setup, amperage settings, and air pressure configuration.
