The ARC ABRASIVES 71-10824FF is a Type 27 flap disc designed for aggressive material removal and extended service life on angle grinders. Measuring 4.5 inches in diameter with a 7/8-inch arbor bore, this disc is rated to 13,300 RPM. The Predator-series construction uses abrasive flap segments layered over a flat backing plate, delivering fast stock removal while maintaining surface contact throughout the life of the disc. Each box contains 10 discs at 40 grit, making it suited for heavy grinding, weld removal, and surface preparation tasks where both speed and longevity matter.
This flap disc is well suited for use on mild steel, high alloy steel, nickel alloy, and stainless steel. It is a common choice for fabrication shops, welding operations, pipeline work, and structural steel applications where weld beads, mill scale, and heavy surface stock need to be removed efficiently. The Type 27 flat profile allows flush grinding and works effectively in flat and slightly contoured surface applications.
Designed for use with standard 4.5-inch angle grinders accepting a 7/8-inch arbor. Suitable for grinding mild steel, high alloy steel, nickel alloy, and stainless steel workpieces.
Flap discs are installed and replaced by the operator using the grinder spindle nut and appropriate wrench per the tool manufacturer instructions. Always confirm the grinder free-speed rating does not exceed the disc RPM rating of 13,300 RPM before mounting. Wear appropriate PPE including face shield and gloves during disc changes and operation. Inspect each disc for cracks or damage before mounting and never use a damaged disc.
