The ARC ABRASIVES 71-10815FF is a Type 27 flat-profile flap disc engineered for aggressive material removal on metal surfaces. Measuring 4.5 inches in diameter with a 5/8-11 inches arbor thread, it runs at a maximum of 13,300 RPM and carries a 60-grit abrasive cloth. Flap discs in this configuration are used with standard angle grinders to cut down welds, remove mill scale, and blend surface irregularities. The Type 27 flat profile keeps the disc flush to the workpiece, giving the operator a stable grinding angle suited for flat and curved surfaces. Each box contains 10 discs.
This disc is designed for use on mild steel, high-alloy steel, nickel alloy, and stainless steel. It is a fit for fabrication shops, welding operations, and metal finishing work where fast stock removal and extended disc life are both priorities. The 60-grit specification positions it as a coarse-cut disc for weld seam grinding and initial surface preparation rather than fine finishing passes. Both production welders and field fabricators will find it suited to heavy-duty grinding cycles.
Designed for use with 4.5 inch angle grinders equipped with a 5/8-11 inches threaded spindle. Suitable for grinding mild steel, high-alloy steel, nickel alloy, and stainless steel workpieces.
Flap discs are installed and replaced by metalworkers, fabricators, and welders using standard angle grinders. Always power down and unplug or lock out the grinder before mounting or removing a disc. Confirm the grinder spindle speed does not exceed the 13,300 RPM maximum rating marked on the disc before operation. Use the correct flange and locking nut for a 5/8-11 inches arbor, and inspect the disc for damage before each use.
