The ARC ABRASIVES 71-10814FF is a Type 27 flap disc engineered for aggressive material removal and extended service life on metal fabrication and welding applications. Built under the Predator line, this disc measures 4.5 inches in diameter with a 5/8-11 inches threaded hub and carries a 40-grit abrasive surface rated to 13,300 RPM. It is designed to remove welds, scale, and heavy stock quickly while lasting longer than standard flap discs under demanding shop and field conditions. Sold in a box of 10, it is a working consumable for metalworkers, fabricators, and maintenance welders who run angle grinders regularly.
This disc is well suited for grinding and blending on mild steel, high-alloy steel, nickel alloy, and stainless steel. The Type 27 flat profile keeps the disc low-profile and stable against flat and slightly contoured workpiece surfaces. Typical applications include weld seam removal, deburring, surface preparation before coating or inspection, and general stock removal in fabrication shops, structural steel work, and industrial maintenance settings. The 40-grit designation targets coarse material removal rather than finishing work.
Designed for use with 4.5-inch angle grinders equipped with a 5/8-11 inches spindle thread. Suitable for grinding mild steel, high-alloy steel, nickel alloy, and stainless steel workpieces.
Installation is performed by metalworkers and fabricators using a standard 4.5-inch angle grinder. Confirm the grinder spindle speed does not exceed the 13,300 RPM disc rating before mounting. Power down and unplug or lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the disc. Always use the appropriate flange and locking nut for a Type 27 disc and confirm the disc is fully seated and secure before starting the tool.
