The ARC ABRASIVES 71-077801 is a resin fiber disc designed for aggressive material removal on mild steel and similar ferrous surfaces. Measuring 7 inches in diameter with a 7/8-inch arbor hole, this disc runs on standard angle grinders and finishing grinders common to metal fabrication and welding shops. The Predator line uses self-sharpening abrasive grains that continuously expose fresh cutting edges as the disc wears, helping maintain consistent cut rates without the performance drop-off typical of conventional aluminum oxide discs. At Grit 24, it is suited for rapid stock removal, weld grinding, and surface preparation work. Each box contains 25 discs.
This disc is a cost-effective alternative to full ceramic abrasive discs, making it a practical choice for high-volume grinding operations where consumable cost per piece matters. Typical applications include weld seam grinding, deburring, and surface conditioning on mild steel fabrications in manufacturing, structural steel, and general metalworking environments. The 7-inch diameter suits larger angle grinders and bench-mounted disc grinders. Metal fabricators, ironworkers, pipefitters, and maintenance welders are the primary installers and users of this consumable.
Designed for use on standard angle grinders and disc grinders accepting a 7-inch resin fiber disc with a 7/8-inch arbor. Suited for mild steel grinding and surface preparation applications.
Resin fiber discs are installed by licensed or trained operators following tool manufacturer guidelines for maximum RPM ratings — always verify the disc speed rating meets or exceeds the grinder's no-load RPM before mounting. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and never use a cracked or delaminated disc. Wear appropriate PPE including a face shield, gloves, and hearing protection when operating angle grinders. Follow ANSI B11 and applicable shop safety standards for abrasive wheel use.
