The ARC ABRASIVES 71-047804 is a Predator-series resin fiber disc designed for aggressive material removal on mild steel and similar ferrous surfaces. Measuring 4.5 inches in diameter with a 0.875-inch arbor hole, these discs feature self-sharpening abrasive grains that continuously expose fresh cutting edges as the disc wears. Each box contains 25 discs at a Grit 50 coarseness rating, making them a cost-effective choice for grinding, blending, and surface prep work. Metal fabricators, welders, and general maintenance tradespeople are the primary users of this product.
These resin fiber discs are suited for residential and light commercial fabrication shops, welding operations, and metal prep applications. The Grit 50 specification targets aggressive stock removal rather than fine finishing, making this disc appropriate for weld seam cleanup, rust and scale removal, and edge deburring on mild steel workpieces. The 25-disc box quantity supports ongoing production use without frequent reordering.
Designed for use with standard angle grinders fitted with a compatible resin fiber disc backing pad accepting a 4.5-inch disc with a 0.875-inch arbor. Recommended for mild steel surface preparation applications.
Resin fiber discs must be mounted on a rigid or semi-rigid backing pad rated for the disc diameter before use on an angle grinder. Ensure the grinder is powered off and unplugged before mounting or removing the disc. Inspect each disc for cracks, tears, or damage before use and discard any damaged discs immediately. Follow ANSI B7.1 and grinder manufacturer guidelines for maximum RPM rating and safe operating procedures.
