The ARC ABRASIVES 37216 is a resin fiber disc engineered for aggressive material removal on metal surfaces. Measuring 7 inches in diameter with a 7/8-inch arbor hole, it runs at 50 grit — a coarse designation suited for rapid stock removal, weld blending, and surface conditioning. The disc combines a resin-bond construction with a grinding aid that reduces heat buildup and extends disc life during sustained grinding. HVAC fabricators, pipefitters, ironworkers, and general metalworking tradespeople are the primary users of this disc type. It mounts to a standard right-angle grinder with a compatible backing pad.
This disc is built for use on all types of steel, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals. The 50-grit cut level makes it appropriate for initial surface prep, flash removal, and deburring on flat and contoured workpieces. Its 7-inch diameter suits larger right-angle grinders commonly used in industrial fabrication and heavy-duty field work. The resin fiber backing provides the flex needed to conform slightly to curved surfaces without sacrificing cutting aggression.
Designed for use with 7-inch right-angle grinders equipped with a compatible resin fiber disc backing pad with a 7/8-inch arbor. Suitable for grinding and surface prep applications on steel, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals.
Resin fiber discs require a rigid or semi-flexible backing pad matched to the disc diameter — do not run without a backing pad. Inspect the disc for cracks or damage before each use and discard any disc that shows delamination or edge damage. Always verify that the grinder RPM rating meets or exceeds the disc's maximum rated speed before mounting. Wear appropriate PPE including a face shield, gloves, and hearing protection during operation.
