The ARC ABRASIVES 10825AF is a Type 29 flap disc designed for general-purpose grinding and blending on metal and composite surfaces. Measuring 4.5 inches in diameter with a 7/8-inch arbor hole, it runs at 60 grit — a coarse cut suited for material removal, weld cleanup, and surface prep. The conical Type 29 profile presents the abrasive at an angle to the workpiece, increasing contact area and cutting aggression compared to a flat Type 27 disc. Cotton backing reinforces the abrasive flaps, adding structural durability through extended use cycles. Fabricators, ironworkers, and metal finishers reach for this disc when fast stock removal and a consistent scratch pattern both matter.
This flap disc is well suited for use on mild steel, aluminum, and composite materials in both shop and field settings. Typical applications include weld bead blending, edge deburring, surface scale removal, and light contour grinding. The 60-grit designation makes it a first-pass tool in multi-step finishing workflows, or a standalone solution where a medium-to-coarse finish is acceptable. It fits standard 4.5-inch angle grinders common across fabrication, construction, and maintenance trades.
Designed for use with standard 4.5-inch angle grinders accepting a 7/8-inch arbor. Suitable for mild steel, aluminum, and composite workpieces in general fabrication and maintenance applications.
Mounting and disc changes must be performed with the grinder unplugged or the power source locked out. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and do not operate above the maximum RPM rating marked on the disc. Wear appropriate PPE including face shield, gloves, and hearing protection. Follow ANSI B7.1 and applicable OSHA standards for abrasive wheel use.
