The AQUECOIL hhu-am-3 is a hydronic heating unit designed to pair with a compatible air handler and a hot water source to deliver residential space heating. It extracts heat energy from hot water and uses the air handler's blower to distribute warm air through the conditioned space. The unit mounts directly over the air handler's discharge or return opening and supports both horizontal and vertical installations. Its heavy-duty aluminum cabinet features a baked enamel finish and full rigid foam insulation for durable, efficient operation. Licensed HVAC technicians typically install this unit as a furnace or heat pump alternative in hydronic heating applications.
The hhu-am-3 is suited for residential space heating systems where a hot water source such as a gas-fired water heater or boiler is already present or planned. It is sized for use with 4 to 5 ton air handlers. The unit accommodates discharge-side or return-side air handler configurations, giving installers flexibility in system layout. Heat output is adjustable to match the load requirements of the conditioned space. Optional circulation pump packages are available in 230-volt or 115-volt configurations to simplify integration with existing air handler wiring and controls.
Designed for use with 4 to 5 ton air handlers in residential hydronic heating applications. Compatible with any hot water source that provides sufficient BTUH output, including gas-fired water heaters and boilers.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician familiar with hydronic heating systems and local mechanical codes. Shut off the hot water source and de-energize the air handler before mounting or making water connections. Ensure all water connections are properly sealed and that the system is bled of air before startup. Optional ball valve and swing check valve kits should be installed per the manufacturer instructions to protect the coil and maintain flow control.
