The AQUALINE SCU-4-LF is a brass compression coupling designed for joining tubing and pipe in plumbing and water distribution systems. It accepts 1-1/4 inch CTS (Copper Tube Size) or 1 inch IPS (Iron Pipe Size) connections, giving installers flexibility across common pipe sizing standards. The lead-free brass construction meets drinking water compliance requirements, making it suitable for potable water applications. Licensed plumbers and water service technicians install this fitting during new construction, repair, or retrofit work where a reliable mechanical joint is needed without soldering.
This coupling is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications involving copper tubing or iron pipe size plastic pipe. It is a practical choice in tight spaces or field conditions where heat-based joining methods are not preferred. The compression design allows for straightforward installation using standard hand tools, and the fitting accommodates both CTS and IPS sizing in a single unit, reducing the need to stock multiple fittings for different pipe standards.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and repair fitting for plumbing systems using 1-1/4 inch CTS copper tubing or 1 inch IPS pipe.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC requirements. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before cutting or removing any existing pipe section. Ensure pipe ends are cut square and deburred before seating the compression ferrule and nut. Do not overtighten the compression nut, as excessive force can deform the ferrule and compromise the seal.
