The AQUALINE GCPL-050 is a 1/2-inch threaded galvanized coupling designed to join two sections of threaded pipe in a variety of plumbing and mechanical piping systems. The hot-dip galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance suited to water supply, general plumbing, and light industrial applications. At 0.2 pounds, this is a compact, lightweight fitting that installs quickly with standard pipe wrenches or channel-lock pliers. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of coupling during new construction, repair, and retrofit work on threaded steel pipe runs.
This coupling is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, water supply, and general piping applications where 1/2-inch NPT-threaded galvanized steel fittings are required. It is appropriate for above-ground and concealed installations in dry or wet environments where galvanized fittings are accepted by the applicable code. The 1/2-inch size is one of the most common pipe sizes encountered in residential water distribution and branch supply lines.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for 1/2-inch NPT-threaded galvanized steel pipe systems in residential and light commercial plumbing installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) or applicable local code. Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply thread sealant tape or pipe dope to male threads before makeup to ensure a leak-free connection. Do not over-torque threaded fittings, as this can crack or distort the fitting body.
