The AQUALINE DU1325 is a 1-1/2 inch dielectric union designed to connect dissimilar metals in plumbing systems while preventing galvanic corrosion. One end features a female iron pipe thread (FIPT) connection and the other a sweat (solder) end, allowing a transition between threaded and copper piping without creating an electrolytic reaction between the two materials. This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers in both residential and light commercial applications where copper and ferrous or galvanized pipe systems meet.
The DU1325 is suited for water supply and distribution systems where copper tubing meets threaded steel or galvanized pipe. Common install scenarios include water heater connections, boiler supply and return lines, and main water service transitions. The FIPT x sweat configuration makes it a direct choice where a threaded fitting on one side and a soldered copper connection on the other are required in the same union joint.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install dielectric union for 1-1/2 inch plumbing systems requiring a FIPT to sweat transition between dissimilar metals.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before beginning work. The sweat end requires standard soldering tools and lead-free solder where required by code. Do not overtighten the threaded FIPT connection, and ensure the dielectric sleeve and washer are properly seated before completing the union joint.
