The AQUALINE DU1323 is a 1-inch dielectric union designed to isolate dissimilar metals in water supply piping systems. It connects female iron pipe thread (FIPT) on one end to a sweat (solder) connection on the other, making it the right fitting where galvanized or iron pipe meets copper tubing. The dielectric barrier prevents galvanic corrosion, which extends the service life of both the piping and connected equipment. Licensed plumbers install this fitting as a standard component in residential and light commercial water systems wherever mixed-metal connections are required by code.
This fitting is used in potable water supply systems where iron or steel pipe transitions to copper tubing. Common install locations include water heater inlet and outlet connections, boiler supply and return lines, and branch supply lines where material changes occur. The 1-inch size suits main water service lines and larger branch runs typical in residential and small commercial construction.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-inch FIPT-to-sweat dielectric union applications in residential and light commercial water supply piping systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before disassembling or installing this fitting. The sweat end requires proper flux application and a clean, deburred copper tube end before soldering — keep the dielectric seal away from direct flame during the solder process. Hand-tighten the FIPT threads first, then use a wrench to seat fully without over-torquing.
