The AQUALINE DU1321 is a 3/4 inch dielectric union designed to create an electrically isolated connection between dissimilar metals in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. Dielectric unions prevent galvanic corrosion at the joint between copper and steel piping by separating the two metals with a non-conductive plastic or rubber insert. This fitting connects via female iron pipe thread (FIPT) on one end and a sweat connection on the other, making it a common solution at water heater connections where copper supply lines meet threaded steel fittings. Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified service technicians.
