The AQUAGUARD 96128 is a micro electronic condensate sensor designed to detect overflow conditions in HVAC drain pans and shut down equipment before water damage occurs. The unit incorporates a 60-second adjustable time delay, reducing nuisance trips caused by momentary splash or condensation events. An onboard LED display provides clear status indication during commissioning and service. The plenum-rated probe and wire meet air-handling space requirements, making this sensor suitable for installation inside or adjacent to air handler cabinets. Licensed HVAC technicians and refrigeration mechanics are the primary installers of this device.
The 96128 is used in residential and light commercial split systems, packaged units, and fan coil applications where secondary condensate protection is required. The unit ships with a bonus secondary sensor for added water detection coverage, and adjustable mounting clips allow secure positioning in a variety of drain pan configurations. Double-sided tape mounting is also supported, offering flexibility in tight or unconventional installation spaces where mechanical clips are impractical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and upgrade condensate overflow sensor for residential and light commercial HVAC drain pan applications requiring plenum-rated sensing components.
Installation is performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Disconnect power to the air handler or packaged unit at the disconnect or breaker before wiring the sensor into the low-voltage control circuit. Verify that the probe is fully seated in the drain pan at the correct overflow height before restoring power. Follow NEC low-voltage wiring guidelines and local authority-having-jurisdiction requirements for plenum-space wiring.
