The APPLETON SR-50-375 is a strain-relief cord connector designed to secure flexible cords where they enter an enclosure or fitting. With a 1/2-inch trade size entry and a cord grip range of 0.25 to 0.375 inches, this connector clamps the cord jacket firmly to prevent pull-through and reduce stress on the termination point inside the box. Electricians use this type of connector on panels, junction boxes, and control enclosures wherever a flexible cord requires a secure, code-compliant entry point. It is a standard component in commercial and industrial wiring installations.
This connector is suited for use in commercial and industrial electrical installations where flexible cord must enter a metallic or non-metallic enclosure. The 1/2-inch trade size fits the most common knockouts found in standard electrical enclosures and junction boxes. It is installed by licensed electricians and maintenance technicians during new construction, panel work, and equipment hookup where strain relief on the cord is required by the National Electrical Code.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation cord connector for use with standard 1/2-inch trade size knockouts on electrical enclosures, junction boxes, and control panels.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize the enclosure completely before installing or replacing any cord connector. Insert the connector through the knockout, secure the locknut firmly against the enclosure wall, then seat the cord and tighten the strain-relief clamp to grip the jacket without cutting into the cord insulation. Do not over-tighten the cord clamp.
