The APPLETON RB-327S is a threaded reducing bushing used to adapt a larger conduit opening to accept a smaller conduit or fitting. Reducing bushings are a standard component in electrical conduit systems, allowing electricians to transition between trade sizes at junction boxes, enclosures, and conduit bodies without replacing the entire fitting. The RB-327S steps down from a 1-1/2 inch opening to a 1-1/4 inch thread, making it a practical solution for mixed-size conduit runs in commercial and industrial installations.
This reducing bushing is suited for use in electrical conduit systems where a 1-1/2 inch to 1-1/4 inch size reduction is required. It is commonly installed at junction boxes, panelboards, and conduit bodies in commercial, industrial, and utility applications. Licensed electricians install this fitting during rough-in or service work wherever conduit trade sizes need to be matched at a termination point.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-use reducing bushing for 1-1/2 inch to 1-1/4 inch threaded conduit system applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize all circuits and lock out power at the panel before working in any enclosure or junction box. Hand-thread the bushing into the larger opening first, then tighten with an appropriate pipe wrench or strap wrench to ensure a secure connection. Inspect threads on both the bushing and the receiving fitting for damage before installation.
