The APPLETON RB-324S is a threaded reducing bushing designed to adapt a larger conduit opening to a smaller conduit trade size. This fitting steps down from 1-1/4 inches to 1/2 inch, allowing electricians to connect smaller conduit runs into larger enclosure knockouts, junction boxes, or conduit bodies without requiring a new knockout or additional fittings. It is a standard component in commercial and industrial conduit installations where mixed trade sizes must interface cleanly at a single entry point.
This reducing bushing is used in conduit systems where a 1-1/4 inch threaded entry must accept a 1/2 inch conduit. Common applications include panelboard enclosures, junction boxes, conduit bodies, and outlet boxes in both new construction and retrofit electrical work. Licensed electricians install this fitting as part of a complete raceway system in residential, commercial, and light industrial environments.
Designed as an OEM-style reducing bushing compatible with standard threaded conduit systems using 1-1/4 inch female entries and 1/2 inch male conduit connections.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize all circuits and verify the enclosure is locked out and tagged out before installing or replacing conduit fittings. Thread the bushing into the larger opening by hand first, then tighten with an appropriate wrench or strap wrench to ensure a secure, rattle-free connection. Installation must comply with applicable NEC articles governing conduit fill and fitting use.
