The APPLETON RB-322S is a threaded reducing bushing designed to transition conduit or fitting openings from a 1-inch trade size down to a 3/4-inch trade size. This type of fitting is a standard component in electrical raceway systems, allowing electricians to connect conduit runs or install fittings where outlet sizes do not match. The RB-322S threads into the larger opening and accepts a 3/4-inch conduit or fitting on the reduced end, maintaining a secure, code-compliant connection in the raceway assembly.
Reducing bushings like the RB-322S are used in commercial and industrial electrical installations wherever conduit size changes are needed at junction boxes, enclosures, panelboards, or conduit bodies. This fitting is suited for use with standard threaded rigid metal conduit (RMC) and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) systems. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this fitting as part of new construction wiring and retrofit projects.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation reducing bushing for 1-inch to 3/4-inch threaded conduit and fitting applications in standard electrical raceway systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before working on any enclosure or conduit body where this bushing will be installed. Hand-tighten the bushing into the larger threaded opening, then snug with an appropriate wrench to ensure a secure, watertight connection where required. Do not over-torque threaded fittings, as this can damage threads on the enclosure or conduit body.
