The APPLETON LB77 is a Form 7 LB-configuration conduit outlet body designed for use with 2-1/2 inch rigid and IMC conduit systems. The body is constructed from zinc electroplated, chromate, and epoxy powder coated Grayloy iron, providing corrosion resistance in demanding environments. It features a 102 cubic inch internal capacity, two hubs positioned at 90 degrees, and threaded installation. The cover is secured using a wedge-lock clip design with captive pan-head stainless steel cover screws, and a neoprene gasket is included for wet location use. Licensed electricians and conduit installers working on commercial and industrial wiring systems handle installation of this fitting.
The LB77 is used in conduit runs that require a 90-degree change of direction with back-access for pulling conductors, splicing, or maintenance. Its flat-back design provides greater cubic content for easier wire pulling and more room for splicing, and fits flush against flat surfaces for a stable mount. The body is approved for use in wet locations when installed with the cast cover and gasket. It is listed under UL 514A/514B and CSA C22.2, and meets NEMA FB-1 standards. This fitting is compatible with rigid steel conduit and IMC conduit installations in both commercial and industrial applications.
Designed for use on 2-1/2 inch rigid steel conduit and IMC conduit with threaded installation. Form 7 dimensions are fully interchangeable with other FM7 and Form 7 conduit body units, gaskets, and covers from competing manufacturers.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the NEC and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits before opening the conduit body for conductor work. Use appropriate thread sealant rated for conduit fittings when making up threaded joints, and verify hub engagement meets code-required thread count. Do not overtighten cover screws; the wedge-lock clip system is designed to secure the cover without excessive torque.
