The APPLETON LB50ACG is a 1/2-inch LB-type conduit body used in electrical conduit runs to provide a pull point and change direction by 90 degrees. It is installed in rigid metal conduit (RMC) or intermediate metal conduit (IMC) systems where a right-angle turn is required and pulling wire in a single sweep elbow is not practical. Licensed electricians install this fitting during rough-in and finish work on commercial and industrial projects. The compact form factor keeps conduit runs tight to structure while maintaining code-required conductor access through the removable cover.
LB-type conduit bodies are a standard component in commercial, industrial, and utility electrical installations. This 1/2-inch size fits conduit runs carrying branch circuit and control wiring. Common applications include exterior wall penetrations, service entrance routing, and panel feed runs where a 90-degree back-entry direction change is needed within a confined space.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for use with standard 1/2-inch rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit systems in compliance with NEC conduit body requirements.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize all circuits in the affected conduit run before opening or working near any conduit body. Conduit bodies must be supported per NEC Article 314 requirements and sized so total conductor fill does not exceed code-allowed limits. Do not use the conduit body as a junction point unless the volume is marked and conductors are spliced within NEC fill guidelines.
