The APPLETON IBC-75 is a 3/4 inch malleable insulating bushing designed to protect wire and cable insulation at conduit terminations. This fitting threads onto the end of rigid metal conduit or IMC to create a smooth, non-metallic bearing surface that prevents abrasion damage to conductor insulation during pull-in and throughout the life of the installation. Electricians install this bushing wherever conduit ends are exposed inside enclosures, panels, or junction boxes. The malleable iron construction delivers durability in demanding environments while the insulating interior keeps conductors protected from the sharp conduit edge.
This bushing is suited for use in commercial and industrial electrical installations where rigid metal conduit or IMC terminates at enclosures, meter bases, disconnect boxes, and panelboards. It is a standard fitting in branch circuit, feeder, and service entrance work wherever 3/4 inch conduit is used. Electricians on both new construction and retrofit jobs rely on insulating bushings to meet NEC requirements for protecting conductors at conduit ends.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement fitting for 3/4 inch rigid metal conduit and IMC applications in standard electrical enclosures and panels.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize the circuit and verify the panel or enclosure is fully powered down before working inside any enclosure. Thread the bushing onto the conduit end by hand and tighten with pliers or a strap wrench until snug. Follow applicable NEC requirements for conductor protection at conduit terminations.
