The APPLETON IBC-50LS-4AC is a 1/2-inch insulated grounding bushing designed to protect wire insulation at conduit terminations and provide a grounding path in electrical raceway systems. This type of fitting is installed at the end of a threaded rigid metal conduit or IMC stub where the conduit terminates into a knockout or enclosure. The insulated throat prevents abrasion damage to conductors, while the grounding lug or bonding function maintains continuity of the equipment grounding system. Electricians and electrical contractors install this bushing as a standard part of panel terminations, junction box entries, and equipment enclosure connections.
This insulated grounding bushing is suited for use in commercial, industrial, and residential electrical installations wherever 1/2-inch rigid metal conduit or IMC terminates at an enclosure. It is commonly installed at distribution panels, motor control centers, pull boxes, and equipment enclosures where the National Electrical Code requires both insulation protection and grounding continuity at conduit endpoints. The compact profile fits standard 1/2-inch threaded conduit entries without modifications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit insulated grounding bushing for 1/2-inch threaded rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit terminations in commercial and residential electrical enclosures.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize and lock out the panel or enclosure before beginning any conduit termination work. Thread the bushing onto the end of the conduit before pulling conductors, and verify the grounding lug or bonding conductor is properly torqued and connected to the enclosure ground bar in accordance with NEC Article 250. Do not use this bushing as a sole means of grounding without also verifying the full grounding path integrity.
