The APPLETON IBC-350 is a malleable insulated bushing designed to protect wire insulation at conduit terminations. It threads onto the end of a 3.5-inch conduit to eliminate sharp metal edges that can cut or abrade conductor insulation during pull-through and after installation. The insulated liner provides a smooth, non-conductive surface at the conduit mouth. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this fitting as part of standard conduit termination practice in both new construction and retrofit applications. The IBC-350 weighs 0.62 pounds and ships in a compact package measuring 7.9 x 5.2 x 0.96 inches.
This bushing is suited for use in commercial and industrial electrical installations where conduit systems terminate at panels, junction boxes, enclosures, and equipment knockouts. It is appropriate for indoor and protected outdoor conduit runs where NEC-compliant wire protection at conduit ends is required. The 3.5-inch trade size fits standard rigid metal conduit (RMC) and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) of the same trade size. It is a common item on commercial electrical projects and industrial maintenance stock lists.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for use with 3.5-inch trade size rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit terminations in standard electrical installations.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 300 requirements for conductor protection at conduit ends. De-energize the circuit and verify absence of voltage before pulling conductors or handling terminations. Thread the bushing onto the conduit end by hand and tighten with a conduit wrench to ensure it is fully seated against the conduit end face. Inspect the insulated liner for damage before use and do not install a bushing with a cracked or missing liner.
