The APPLETON IBC-150LS-4AC is an insulated grounding bushing designed for use on 1-1/2 inch conduit terminations. It provides a smooth, insulated throat to protect wire insulation from abrasion at conduit ends while also offering a grounding lug or bonding point to maintain electrical continuity in the grounding system. This type of bushing is a standard component in commercial and industrial electrical installations wherever metal conduit terminates into a panel, enclosure, or junction box. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this fitting as part of compliant raceway assemblies.
This bushing is suited for use in commercial, industrial, and residential electrical systems where rigid metal conduit (RMC) or intermediate metal conduit (IMC) terminates at enclosures, distribution panels, or pull boxes. It is commonly installed where NEC grounding and bonding requirements mandate a listed insulated bushing at conduit ends, particularly on conductors 4 AWG and larger. The low-profile design and compact dimensions make it practical in tight panel or enclosure knockouts.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for use with 1-1/2 inch rigid metal conduit or intermediate metal conduit terminations in listed electrical enclosures and panels.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize and lock out the panel or enclosure before beginning work, following OSHA lockout/tagout procedures and applicable NEC guidelines. Thread or seat the bushing onto the conduit end before pulling conductors to avoid insulation damage. Verify that the grounding lug or bonding connection is properly torqued and conductored per the authority having jurisdiction.
