The APPLETON IBC-150L-4AC is an insulated grounding bushing designed for use with rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) installations. This fitting provides a grounded, insulated throat at the end of a conduit run, protecting wire insulation from abrasion while establishing a reliable equipment grounding path. Sized for 1-1/2 inch trade size conduit, it is a standard component in commercial and industrial electrical distribution systems. Licensed electricians install this bushing where conduit terminates at enclosures, panelboards, and junction boxes.
Insulated grounding bushings like the IBC-150L-4AC are used in commercial, industrial, and institutional electrical installations wherever rigid or IMC conduit enters an enclosure and a bonding jumper or grounding lug connection is required. The insulated throat prevents conductor damage at the conduit end, and the grounding lug allows a bonding conductor to be landed directly on the bushing. This fitting is commonly specified in installations governed by NEC Article 250 bonding and grounding requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for 1-1/2 inch trade size rigid metal conduit and IMC terminations in commercial and industrial electrical enclosures and panelboards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit and lock out the panelboard or enclosure before beginning conduit termination work. Thread the bushing fully onto the conduit end before inserting conductors, and land the bonding jumper on the grounding lug per NEC Article 250 requirements. Do not substitute this bushing for a listed conduit connector where a connector is specifically required by code.
