The APPLETON IBC-150L-20AC is a 1-1/2 inch insulated bushing designed to protect wire and cable insulation at conduit ends and knockout openings. The bushing seats at the end of threaded rigid or IMC conduit to eliminate sharp metal edges that can damage conductor insulation during pull-in and after installation. Electricians install this fitting as a standard code-required termination component in commercial and industrial raceway systems. Its insulated throat provides a smooth, non-conductive bearing surface between the conductors and the conduit end.
This insulated bushing is suited for use in commercial, industrial, and institutional electrical installations wherever 1-1/2 inch rigid metal conduit or IMC terminates at a panel, junction box, or enclosure knockout. It is a common component in branch circuit and feeder conduit runs where conductor protection at termination points is required by the National Electrical Code.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for use with 1-1/2 inch threaded rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit terminations in standard electrical enclosures and panelboards.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for conductor protection at conduit terminations. De-energize the circuit and verify the absence of voltage before pulling conductors through the conduit. Thread the bushing firmly onto the conduit end by hand and tighten with the appropriate spanner or strap wrench before seating the conduit into the enclosure knockout. Do not use the bushing as a grounding means unless the product is specifically rated and listed for that purpose.
