The APPLETON IBC-100L-4AC is a 1-inch insulated grounding bushing designed for use in electrical conduit installations. This fitting provides a secure, code-compliant grounding connection at the end of a rigid metal conduit or intermediate metal conduit run, protecting wire insulation from the sharp edges of cut conduit ends. It combines an insulated throat with an integral grounding lug, allowing electricians to bond the conduit system to the equipment grounding conductor in a single fitting. At 0.12 pounds and a compact profile, it is straightforward to install in panel knockouts, junction boxes, and enclosures.
This insulated grounding bushing is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical work wherever rigid metal conduit or intermediate metal conduit terminates at an enclosure. It is commonly installed by licensed electricians during service entrance work, panel feeds, and branch circuit raceways that require both insulated throat protection and an equipment grounding connection at the conduit termination point.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-inch rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit systems requiring an insulated grounding bushing termination.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize and lock out the circuit or panel before working at any conduit termination point. Thread the bushing onto the end of the conduit until seated, then torque per applicable NEC and local code requirements. Connect the equipment grounding conductor to the grounding lug before restoring power.
