The APPLETON IBC-100 is a 1-inch malleable insulating bushing designed to protect electrical conductors from abrasion where conduit enters enclosures, panels, and junction boxes. The bushing seats inside the conduit end and creates a smooth, insulated throat that prevents wire insulation from being cut or worn by the sharp edges of threaded conduit openings. This fitting is a standard component in commercial and industrial electrical installations and is typically installed by licensed electricians during conduit termination work.
The IBC-100 is suited for use in commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and utility installations wherever 1-inch rigid or IMC conduit terminates at a box or enclosure. It is commonly installed in panel feed runs, branch circuit conduit, and equipment connection points where conductor protection at the conduit entry is required by code. Its malleable construction provides durability in both indoor and protected outdoor environments.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for use with 1-inch rigid metal conduit (RMC) and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) terminations at electrical enclosures and boxes.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize all circuits in the enclosure before beginning conduit termination work in accordance with NFPA 70 (NEC) lockout/tagout requirements. The bushing threads or seats onto the conduit end before conductors are pulled through. Inspect the bushing for cracks or damage prior to installation, as a compromised insulating surface does not provide adequate conductor protection.
