The APPLETON HBLG-1104 is a 1-inch insulated grounding bushing designed to protect conductors from sharp conduit edges while providing a reliable grounding path at the conduit termination point. This fitting threads onto the end of rigid metal conduit or intermediate metal conduit and bonds the conduit system to the grounding conductor. Electricians use this bushing in panelboard knockouts, junction boxes, and enclosure entries where the National Electrical Code requires insulated grounding at conduit terminations. The low-profile design and standard 1-inch trade size make it a routine stock item for commercial and industrial electrical work.
The HBLG-1104 is suited for use in commercial, industrial, and residential electrical installations wherever 1-inch rigid or IMC conduit terminates at an enclosure. It is typically installed at service equipment, load centers, and distribution panels where grounding continuity and conductor protection are both required at the same fitting. The bushing is appropriate for indoor and protected outdoor locations in standard electrical systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit grounding bushing for 1-inch rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit terminations in commercial and industrial electrical enclosures.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 250 grounding and bonding requirements. De-energize the panel or enclosure and verify absence of voltage before beginning work. Thread the bushing onto the conduit end until seated, then terminate the equipment grounding conductor to the grounding lug. Do not over-tighten the lug screw beyond hand-firm without a manufacturer torque specification present.
