The APPLETON GL-200-D is a malleable iron grounding locknut designed for use in electrical conduit installations requiring a reliable ground continuity path at the enclosure or panel connection point. This fitting threads onto standard conduit to secure the conduit to a knockout and establish a low-resistance ground bond between the conduit system and the enclosure. Sized for 3/4-inch conduit trade size, it is a staple fitting in commercial and industrial electrical rough-in work performed by licensed electricians.
The GL-200-D is suited for use in commercial, industrial, and residential electrical installations where grounding integrity at conduit terminations is required. It is typically installed at panel enclosures, junction boxes, and other electrical enclosures with standard knockout openings sized for 3/4-inch conduit. This fitting is commonly used wherever code-compliant grounding continuity must be maintained through the metal conduit system.
Designed as an OEM-style grounding locknut for use with standard 3/4-inch trade-size rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit terminations at electrical enclosures and panels.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for grounding and bonding of metal conduit systems. De-energize all circuits and lock out the panel or enclosure before beginning work. Thread the locknut onto the conduit end and tighten firmly against the enclosure wall using an appropriate locknut wrench or large flathead screwdriver to ensure solid metal-to-metal contact for ground continuity. Do not overtighten to the point of cracking the knockout material.
