The APPLETON EYA-125 is a conduit sealing fitting designed for use in hazardous location electrical installations. It provides a seal in conduit runs to prevent the passage of gases, vapors, and flames between sections of the conduit system. The EYA-125 features female threaded entries on both ends and is sized for 1-1/4 inch conduit. Licensed electricians and industrial maintenance technicians install this type of fitting where National Electrical Code and hazardous location requirements mandate sealing points in the conduit system.
This fitting is appropriate for use in classified hazardous locations such as Class I Division 1 and Division 2 environments where flammable gases or vapors may be present. It is installed inline in conduit runs at required sealing points, including at enclosure entries and at transitions between hazardous and non-hazardous areas. The female-by-female configuration allows direct connection into existing threaded conduit runs without additional adapters in most standard installations.
Designed as an OEM-style sealing fitting for 1-1/4 inch threaded rigid metal or intermediate metal conduit systems in hazardous location installations.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 501 and applicable local codes governing hazardous location wiring. De-energize the circuit and verify the absence of voltage before beginning any conduit work. Sealing compound must be used to fill the fitting body after installation per code requirements. Do not install without proper sealing compound, as an empty fitting does not provide the required seal.
