The APPLETON CGG273 is a neoprene grommet designed to protect wiring and cables at conduit or panel knockouts. It seats into a knockout opening and creates a cushioned barrier between metal edges and conductors passing through, reducing abrasion and preventing insulation damage. The CGG273 fits openings in the 0.375 to 0.500 inch range. Electricians install this grommet during panel builds, junction box wiring, and equipment enclosure work wherever a clean, protected cable pass-through is required.
This grommet is suited for use in residential and commercial electrical installations, industrial control panels, and electrical enclosures. It is particularly common in situations where conductors or flexible conduit must pass through sheet metal edges without rigid fittings. The neoprene material holds up to oil, moisture, and moderate heat exposure typical of electrical enclosure environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation grommet for electrical enclosures, junction boxes, and control panels with knockout openings in the 0.375 to 0.500 inch range.
Grommets are installed by licensed electricians in accordance with NEC requirements for conductor protection at enclosure openings. Power down and lock out the enclosure before installing or replacing grommets near energized conductors. Press the grommet firmly into the knockout opening until it seats flush around the perimeter. Inspect the seated grommet for any gaps before routing conductors through.
