The APPLETON bl-150 is a zinc-plated steel locknut designed to secure conduit fittings and connectors to enclosures, junction boxes, and panels in commercial and industrial electrical installations. With a 1-1/2 inch trade size and threaded installation method, it locks onto IMC and rigid conduit systems to maintain tight, reliable mechanical connections. The locknut measures 2.38 inches in diameter and 0.19 inches in thickness, keeping a low profile in tight enclosure knockouts. It carries UL 514B and CSA C22.2 approvals, meeting the requirements of both the NEC and CEC. Licensed electricians and conduit installers are the primary tradespeople working with this fitting.
The bl-150 is suited for commercial and industrial wiring systems where IMC or rigid steel conduit terminates at an enclosure or box. The threaded design allows the locknut to spin onto the conduit threads and seat firmly against the enclosure wall, preventing the connector from backing out. This fitting is appropriate for use in conduit runs subject to vibration, mechanical stress, or code-required secure termination. Standard package quantity is 100 units, making it practical for contractors stocking for larger projects or service van inventory.
Designed for use on IMC and rigid steel conduit at 1-1/2 inch trade size. Suitable for commercial and industrial conduit installations requiring NEC/CEC-compliant threaded locknut terminations.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize all circuits and follow LOTO procedures before working inside any enclosure. Thread the locknut onto the conduit or connector threads and tighten firmly against the enclosure wall using a locknut wrench or spanner to ensure a secure mechanical connection. Refer to NEC Article 344 for rigid metal conduit installation requirements and Article 342 for IMC, or the applicable CEC section in Canadian installations.
