The APPLETON 7240V is a 3/8 inch duplex malleable iron connector designed for use with flexible metal conduit (FMC) and BX armored cable. This fitting provides a secure, code-compliant termination point where flexible conduit or armored cable meets an enclosure, junction box, or panel knockout. The duplex design allows two conduit entries through a single fitting body, making it well-suited for installations where space or knockout availability is limited. Electricians rely on malleable iron construction for its resistance to mechanical stress and vibration in demanding environments. The 7240V is a standard trade-size connector used across commercial and industrial wiring applications.
This connector is used in commercial and industrial electrical installations where flexible metal conduit or BX armored cable must be terminated at enclosures, panelboards, or junction boxes. The duplex configuration is especially useful in panel wiring, motor connection boxes, and equipment enclosures where two circuits must enter a single knockout. It is installed by licensed electricians following NEC Article 348 requirements for flexible metal conduit and Article 320 for armored cable.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement fitting for use with 3/8 inch flexible metal conduit and BX armored cable in standard electrical enclosure knockouts.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize all circuits and verify lockout/tagout procedures are in place before terminating conduit or cable at any enclosure. Ensure the knockout diameter matches the fitting thread size before installation. Do not overtighten the connector body, as malleable iron fittings can crack under excessive torque.
