The APPLETON 4Q-50 is a straight liquidtight conduit connector designed for use with liquidtight flexible metal or nonmetallic conduit systems. This fitting provides a secure, watertight termination point where flexible conduit meets an enclosure or junction box knockout. At 1/2 inch trade size, it is one of the most common connector sizes used in commercial and industrial electrical installations. Licensed electricians rely on this type of fitting to maintain conduit integrity in wet, damp, or oil-exposed environments where standard fittings would not meet code requirements.
This connector is suited for use in residential, commercial, and light industrial applications where liquidtight flexible conduit must terminate at a panel, enclosure, motor, or electrical box. Straight-body connectors like the 4Q-50 are typically used when the conduit run approaches the knockout from a direct angle without requiring a bend at the fitting. Common applications include HVAC equipment connections, pump motor wiring, and outdoor electrical enclosures subject to moisture exposure.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1/2 inch liquidtight flexible conduit systems in commercial and industrial electrical applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) requirements for liquidtight fittings. De-energize all circuits before working on any enclosure or panel where this connector will be installed. Hand-tighten the locknut first, then use an appropriate wrench to secure the fitting without overtightening the conduit or deforming the knockout. Verify the conduit sealing ring is properly seated to maintain the liquidtight rating after installation.
