The APPLETON 146G is a 2-inch malleable iron clampback fitting used to secure conduit runs against walls, ceilings, and structural surfaces. It provides a stable, rigid attachment point that keeps conduit in place and maintains proper spacing from the mounting surface. This type of fitting is a standard component in commercial and industrial electrical installations where conduit must be routed along structural members. Electricians install these during conduit rough-in to ensure secure, code-compliant support at required intervals along the run.
The 146G is suited for 2-inch conduit support in commercial, industrial, and heavy-duty residential electrical installations. It is used wherever rigid or IMC conduit must be anchored to a wall or structural surface with consistent standoff spacing. The malleable iron construction makes it appropriate for exposed conduit systems in demanding environments including utility spaces, mechanical rooms, and industrial facilities.
Designed as an OEM-style conduit support fitting for use with 2-inch rigid metal conduit (RMC) and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) in standard electrical installations.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for conduit support spacing and mounting. De-energize all circuits in the work area before beginning conduit installation or modification. Secure the clampback to a structurally sound surface using appropriate fasteners for the substrate. Follow NEC Article 344 or Article 342 for conduit support intervals applicable to rigid or IMC conduit systems.
