The reducing configuration connects 3/4-inch run ports to a 1/2-inch outlet, making it a direct fit for branch reductions in hydronic heating, domestic water, and commercial plumbing systems. The EPDM o-ring enables Leak Before Press detection, which allows technicians to identify unpressed joints during pressure testing before the system goes live.
