The APOLLO VALVES MA212 is a large-diameter male PxMPT press adapter designed for copper press fitting systems. It connects press-style copper tubing to male pipe threads, eliminating the need for soldering or open flame at the joint. The body is constructed from low-lead dezincification-resistant brass, meeting lead-free requirements for potable water applications. Internal components include a stainless-steel solid cross-section grab ring, a nylon separation ring, and an EPDM o-ring. The adapter is manufactured to ASTM material and dimensional standards. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting using a compatible press tool with the appropriate jaw set for 2.5-inch connections.
This adapter is suited for residential and commercial plumbing systems where press-fit copper piping meets threaded pipe connections. The 2.5-inch size places it in large-diameter applications such as main supply lines, commercial water distribution, and mechanical room piping. The male NPT end threads directly into flanges, valves, or equipment with a corresponding female threaded port. The fitting is rated for potable water service and complies with low-lead content standards applicable in states and jurisdictions that enforce reduced lead requirements in plumbing components.
Designed for use in ApolloPress large-diameter copper press fitting systems; the 804 series PxMPT configuration is intended for 2.5-inch copper press tubing transitioning to a male NPT threaded connection. Verify press tool jaw compatibility with 2.5-inch press fittings before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM standards. Shut off and depressurize the water supply and drain the line before making any connections. Use a manufacturer-approved press tool with the correct jaw profile for 2.5-inch fittings; do not attempt to press fittings with incompatible tooling. Inspect the o-ring and grab ring for damage before pressing, and confirm the Break Away Band is intact as a pre-press visual check.
