The APOLLO POWERPRESS 7483201 is a reduced press coupling designed for natural gas and compatible gas distribution piping in thick-wall steel pipe systems. Built to the DW-profile press standard, this fitting connects 1-1/4 inch pipe to 1 inch pipe using a cold-press tool — no open flame, no threading, no soldering. The body is constructed from St 35 (1.0308) carbon steel with a zinc-nickel plated finish for corrosion resistance. The factory-installed HNBR seal handles operating temperatures from -40 degrees F to 194 degrees F and carries a PN 5 pressure rating. This coupling is part of the Apollo PowerPress Gas 420G series, manufactured by Aalberts Integrated Piping Systems.
The 7483201 reducer is suited for residential and light commercial gas piping installations where the distribution line transitions from a 1-1/4 inch main to a 1 inch branch or appliance supply. The Apollo PowerPress Gas system is available in sizes ranging from 1/2 inch through 2 inch, making this reducer a mid-range transition component in a full press-fit gas distribution network. The press-fit method significantly reduces installation time compared to threaded or welded connections and keeps the work environment clean and flame-free, which is advantageous in occupied or retrofit settings.
Designed for use within the Apollo PowerPress Gas 420G system, which covers DW-profile press fittings and valves for thick-wall steel gas pipe in sizes 1/2 inch through 2 inch. Confirm tool and jaw compatibility with the DW-profile press standard before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber or gas fitter in accordance with applicable local codes and the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC). Shut off and verify zero pressure on the gas supply line before pressing any fitting. A calibrated DW-profile press tool with the correct jaw size is required — do not attempt to substitute non-rated tooling. After pressing, inspect each connection for the indicator mark confirming full engagement before restoring gas supply and leak-testing all joints with an approved detection method.
