The APOLLO POWERPRESS 7482035 is a carbon steel press reducing coupling designed to transition between 1-1/2 inch and 1 inch pipe diameters in natural gas and fuel gas distribution systems. The male x press end configuration allows for fast, tool-pressed mechanical connections that eliminate the need for open flame during assembly. At 3.41 inches in length with a 1.91 inch profile, this fitting is compact enough for tight utility chases and mechanical rooms. Licensed gas piping contractors and mechanical tradespeople install this type of fitting as part of press-fit carbon steel gas piping systems where speed and leak-point reduction are priorities.
This reducing coupling is suited for residential and light commercial gas piping applications where a diameter reduction is required within the distribution run. The male outlet on Side A accepts a 1-1/2 inch press-fit tool connection, while Side B provides a 1 inch press connection for the downstream branch or appliance supply. It is manufactured by Aalberts Integrated Piping Systems and is built to the standards applicable to press-fit carbon steel gas systems. Applications include gas supply mains, furnace and boiler feeds, and other fuel gas distribution lines requiring a concentric diameter reduction.
Designed as an OEM-style component for press-fit carbon steel gas piping systems accepting 1-1/2 inch male and 1 inch press connections. Confirm press tool and jaw compatibility with your specific press-fit system before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed gas piping contractor in accordance with the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC) and all applicable local codes. Shut off and lock out the gas supply and verify zero pressure in the line before working on any fitting. Press connections require the correct manufacturer-specified press tool and jaw set to achieve a code-compliant, leak-free joint. After installation, pressure-test the completed assembly per local code requirements before returning the system to service.
