The APEX TOOL GROUP LLC 21528N is a wood file handle designed for use with Type E files. Turned from close-grain hardwood with a wax finish, the handle provides a firm, splinter-resistant grip during filing operations. A nickel-plated metal ferrule at the base reinforces the handle against splitting when the file tang is seated. At 5.25 inches in length, it fits comfortably in the hand for controlled material removal. This handle is a standard replacement or spare component stocked by maintenance technicians, machinists, and general tradespeople who work with hand files regularly.
This handle suits workshop, job-site, and maintenance environments where Type E files are in active use. It is a practical consumable for tool cribs, maintenance carts, and field kits. The compact 5.25-inch length is well matched to smaller file sizes common in HVAC, plumbing rough-in, and general metal fabrication work. Sold individually, it allows technicians to replace worn or damaged handles without replacing the file blade itself.
Designed for use with Type E files. Consult file manufacturer specifications to confirm tang size and handle bore compatibility before installation.
No power source or shutoff is required for handle installation. To seat the file tang, insert the tang into the handle ferrule end and tap the butt of the handle firmly against a solid surface to drive the tang fully into the wood. Do not strike the file blade directly. Inspect the ferrule and handle for cracks before each use to prevent handle failure during operation.
