The APEX M-3116 is a 6-point hex drive impact socket designed for use with 3/8 inch drive impact wrenches and air tools. Built from alloy steel, it accepts a 1/2 inch fastener and measures 1.5 inches in overall length, placing it in the standard length category. A built-in magnetic design holds the fastener in the driving position during installation, reducing dropped hardware and minimizing repositioning time. This socket meets ANSI and DIN standards and is suited for production assembly, mechanical service, and general fastener-driving work where speed and repeatability matter.
This socket fits standard 3/8 inch drive impact tools and is used in automotive, industrial, and general mechanical service applications. The magnetic retention feature is particularly useful when starting fasteners overhead, at odd angles, or in confined spaces where hand access is limited. It is appropriate for both shop and field use by mechanics, millwrights, and general maintenance technicians. The SAE sizing and standard length profile make it a straightforward drop-in for most 3/8 inch drive socket sets.
Designed for use with 3/8 inch drive impact wrenches, air ratchets, and hand ratchets accepting standard 3/8 inch drive sockets. Fits 1/2 inch SAE hex fasteners.
Install and remove this socket only when the impact tool is disconnected from its air supply or power source. Inspect the socket for cracks or deformation before each use — do not use impact sockets that show visible damage. Hand socket sets and chrome-finish sockets are not rated for impact tool torque and should not be substituted. Magnetic sockets do not require separate retaining rings or clips in standard impact drive configurations.
