The APEX 8946 is a Pass-Thru socket and ratchet set designed to improve fastener access and productivity across a wide range of service tasks. The ratchet mechanism requires as little as 5 degrees of arc swing to move fasteners, compared to 30 degrees for standard wrenches. The ratchet head is up to 50% thinner than standard ratchets, and the drive tang is eliminated to deliver approximately 40% greater strength. The thin-wall Pass-Thru sockets replace deep well sockets by allowing nuts to be driven on bolts of any length, reducing overall tool height and increasing torque capability. The set covers 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch drive in a 6-point configuration.
This socket set is suited for automotive, mechanical, and general maintenance applications where tight clearances limit access to fasteners. The reduced-profile ratchet head and Pass-Thru socket design make it particularly useful in confined engine bays, underbody work, and equipment panels. An included adapter allows standard sockets and drive tools to interface with the GearRatchet handle, extending the set's usefulness without requiring additional tooling. Licensed trades and shop technicians working in high-volume environments will benefit from the reduced repositioning time the low arc-swing ratchet provides.
Designed as a general-purpose pass-thru socket and ratchet set compatible with 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch drive tooling; includes an adapter for use with standard sockets and drive tools.
This tool set is intended for use by mechanics, technicians, and trade professionals performing fastener installation or removal. Always ensure the ratchet direction selector is set correctly before applying torque to avoid fastener or tool damage. Inspect sockets and the ratchet mechanism for wear or damage before use in high-torque applications. Store in the provided case to protect socket seating surfaces and the ratchet internals.
