The APEX 82276 is a hex-stock pin punch designed for driving out pins and rivets during final removal in professional and trade applications. The working end is precision-hardened to withstand heavy-duty jobsite demands. The striking end is softened and tapered to reduce the risk of chipping under repeated hammer blows. The ground surface aids in quick identification among other punches in a set, and laser-etched sizing guides are included on the shank. At 0.19 pounds and 7 inches in overall length with a 1/4-inch tip diameter, this punch is suited for mechanics, millwrights, and maintenance technicians working with pinned assemblies.
This punch is used wherever pins, roll pins, or rivets must be driven clear of bores in mechanical assemblies. Common applications include automotive drivetrain work, machinery maintenance, and general metal fabrication. The phosphate coating provides corrosion resistance for toolbox storage and field use. It is sold individually and is appropriate for both shop and field settings where controlled, precise punch work is required.
Designed as a standard 1/4-inch pin punch for use with pinned mechanical assemblies across automotive, industrial, and general maintenance applications.
Use with an appropriate ball-peen or mechanics hammer matched to the task. Always wear eye protection when driving punches, as pin and rivet fragments can eject unpredictably. Ensure the workpiece is secured before driving. Do not use this punch as a chisel or pry tool, as the tip geometry is not designed for lateral loading.
