The APEX 80543 is a ball end hex bit socket designed for accessing internal hex fasteners in tight or angled spaces. Built on a heat-treated alloy steel base socket for lasting durability, it accepts a 3/8 inch drive and features an S2 steel hex bit for maximum torsional strength. The ball end geometry allows up to a 25-degree entry angle, making it practical for fasteners that are difficult to reach with a standard straight-entry socket. This socket is a go-to for HVAC technicians, plumbers, electricians, and general tradespeople who regularly work with hex-head cap screws and socket head fasteners.
This bit socket fits standard 3/8 inch drive ratchets and extensions. It is suited for residential and commercial service work where internal hex fasteners appear in equipment panels, valve assemblies, flanges, and mechanical components. The 1/4 inch hex size is common across HVAC equipment, electrical enclosures, and plumbing fixtures. At 1.653 inches in length and 0.13 pounds, it is compact enough for use in confined equipment bays and access panels.
Designed for use with standard 3/8 inch drive ratchets, breaker bars, and extensions. Fits 1/4 inch internal hex fasteners.
Ensure the drive tool is properly seated before applying torque to avoid socket or fastener damage. When using the ball end angle feature, reduce applied torque compared to straight-on engagement, as angled contact reduces the effective drive surface. Inspect the bit tip for wear before use on precision fasteners. Suitable for hand-tool use only; not recommended for impact driver applications.
