The APEX 80355 is a 9/16 inch, 6-point, 3/8 inch drive SAE socket made from alloy steel with a full polish chrome finish. It is designed for fastener removal and installation in automotive, mechanical, and general trade applications. The 6-point geometry uses off-corner loading, which applies force to the flats of a fastener rather than the corners. This reduces the risk of rounding fastener heads under high torque. Hard-stamped size markings are deeply cut into the socket body for quick identification in a tool tray or bag. At 0.984 inches in length, this is a standard-length socket suited for accessible fastener locations.
This socket fits standard 3/8 inch drive ratchets, extensions, and torque wrenches. It is used in automotive repair, equipment maintenance, HVAC equipment assembly, plumbing fixture work, and general mechanical service. The SAE 9/16 inch size is common on fasteners found in domestic vehicles, HVAC equipment mounting hardware, and structural assemblies. The alloy steel construction and full polish chrome finish provide corrosion resistance for shop and field use.
Designed for use with 3/8 inch drive ratchets, extensions, and torque wrenches. Fits 9/16 inch SAE hex fasteners in standard-depth applications.
Licensed mechanics and trade technicians install and use drive sockets as part of standard hand-tool sets. Ensure the socket is fully seated on the fastener before applying torque to prevent slippage. Inspect the socket and drive square for wear or cracks before use under high torque. Do not use impact sockets interchangeably with hand-drive sockets on impact drivers unless the socket is rated for impact use.
