The APEX 80221 is a deep-length hand socket designed for 1/4 inch drive ratchets and extensions. Built from alloy steel with a full-polish chrome finish, it features a 12-point configuration in a 7/32 inch size. The deep-length profile gives technicians the clearance needed to reach recessed or extended fasteners that standard-length sockets cannot access. Large, hard-stamped size markings make identification fast in a crowded tray or toolbox. Off-corner loading geometry applies drive force to the flat faces of fasteners rather than the corners, reducing the risk of rounding hardware under torque.
This socket is suited for automotive service, HVAC equipment assembly, electrical panel work, plumbing fixture installation, and general mechanical maintenance wherever a 1/4 inch drive tool is appropriate. The deep-length design is particularly useful when driving nuts over threaded studs or accessing fasteners recessed inside equipment housings. Sold individually, one unit per package.
Designed as a standard 1/4 inch drive deep socket compatible with any 1/4 inch drive ratchet, breaker bar, torque wrench, or extension bar following ANSI drive-square dimensions.
This socket is installed by hand tool technicians across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical trades. Ensure the drive square is fully seated before applying torque to prevent slippage. Inspect the socket for cracks or wear before each use and replace if deformation is visible. Do not use impact drivers with chrome hand sockets unless the socket is rated for impact service.
