The APEX 80154 is a 7/64 inch SAE hex bit socket designed for driving and removing internal hex fasteners. Built on a 1/4 inch drive platform, the socket body is constructed from heat-treated alloy steel for durability and extended tool life. The bit itself is manufactured from S2 steel, a high-strength tool steel grade well suited to impact and torsional loads. At 1.53 inches in length and 0.05 pounds, this is a compact, lightweight socket appropriate for tight-access fastener work in HVAC equipment panels, electrical enclosures, and plumbing fixtures.
This hex bit socket is suited for trade and industrial applications where internal hex fasteners are common. Typical install scenarios include tightening set screws on motor shafts, securing access panel hardware, and assembling or servicing equipment with hex-head cap screws. The 1/4 inch drive size pairs with standard ratchets, extension bars, and torque wrenches of that drive class.
Designed for use with standard 1/4 inch drive ratchets, handles, and extensions. Fits 7/64 inch SAE internal hex fasteners.
Install and remove using a 1/4 inch drive ratchet or handle rated for the required torque. Ensure the bit is fully seated in the fastener recess before applying load to prevent rounding. De-energize or de-pressurize any system before servicing fasteners on covers, panels, or mechanical assemblies. Inspect the bit tip for wear before each use and replace if rounding or chipping is visible.
