The APEX 80124 is a deep-length, 6-point socket designed for 1/4 inch drive tools. Built from alloy steel with a full-polish chrome finish, it delivers the strength and corrosion resistance required for repetitive trade use. The 9/16 inch opening and deep-well design allow it to reach fasteners on extended studs, deep recesses, and long bolt shanks where standard-length sockets fall short. Off-corner loading distributes torque onto the flat faces of the fastener rather than the corners, reducing the risk of rounding. Large, hard-stamped size markings make quick socket identification possible even in low-light shop environments.
This socket is suited for mechanical and general maintenance work in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical service applications where 1/4 inch drive access tools are standard equipment. The deep-length profile is particularly useful when driving fasteners on threaded rod, panel studs, or recessed bolt assemblies. It is sold individually and is compatible with any standard 1/4 inch drive ratchet, extension, or torque wrench.
Designed for use with any standard 1/4 inch drive ratchet, extension bar, or torque wrench. Fits 9/16 inch hex fasteners in deep or extended applications.
Install and remove using a calibrated torque wrench or ratchet appropriate for the fastener specification. Ensure the socket is fully seated on the fastener before applying torque to prevent slippage. Inspect the socket for cracks or wear before each use and retire any damaged sockets from service. No power-down procedure is required, but follow all applicable safety protocols for the equipment being serviced.
